Website Analysis (Gabrielle Aplin)

Aplin's Website

As you enter Gabrielle Aplin's website you are greeted with this home page. Once again very abstract and unique. The text is centred showing the importance of the artist but is simplistic demonstrating how it is not about the artist's personality but more about the music is elf which is conventional of this genre as the music is often very passionate and meaningful.

If you click on the 'sign up' in the top let corner you are given the option to sign up to a newsletter from the artist, this is a good way to seem inclusive with your fans whilst also building up a good contact list of fans to distribute new information to.

underneath the text there are drop downs of different parts of the website to access just adding hat extra complexity to the website and make it all the more professional. Also it can coheres people into listening to music they haven't yet heard and to buy merchandise and albums if they are yet to. It is a good way to turn just an average website viewer to a fan. A large fan base is crucial when attempting to build a successful career.

This is the 'store' section of the drop down, as mentioned before you can just see the wide range of options of the website and the different avenues for the artist to make money. Also the background image remains the same, consistency in music videos and websites and digipaks is crucial when trying to build a brand four your artist and helps you market to a specific target audience.

What has this post taught me?

This website reinforced the simplicity of the websites for the genre in terms of the text and dropdown menu. However the image is very intense with the bright colours. Our artists music is very much calm and tranquil and therefore we want to reflect this on our website.
